INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, FONTAINE, FRANCE

The lessons learnt from my international assignment are the global management of multiple projects in parallel, the management of priorities and the negotiations and technical discussions with suppliers.

My role is to manage and represent the department in charge of the transfer of new products on the site, or revalidation of already registered products. The industrial development department takes care of the projects from the moment a quote is signed with the customer, until the registration and the start of commercial manufacturing. The team is composed of project managers, scale-up managers and manufacturing or packaging technicians or experts.

I have learnt about the importance of high quality and supply continuity towards customers and patients who deserve and expect the best.

I started in my role in May 2019, and I am learning something every day since then. It is at the same time very broad and also really exciting to support all the new projects in parallel at Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK in Fontaine. Indeed, on top of the technical challenge to implement a new product in our manufacturing equipment, we must comply to a high-quality standard, a tight transfer planning and a reasonable financial impact. That is indeed a tricky balance.

The lessons learnt from my international assignment in UK are the global management of multiple projects in parallel, the management of priorities and the negotiations and technical discussions with suppliers. I am using these lessons and knowledge every day since I came to Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK in Fontaine.

The international program has taught me a lot about the pharmaceutical industry and serialization. I have also learnt about the quality system, specific to the pharma industry, today part of my daily job in transferring new products to our facilities. Finally, I have learnt about the importance of high quality and supply continuity towards customers and patients who deserve and expect the best.

Although I did not manage personnel during my international assignment, having to manage a global project among various sites has taught me to trust my colleagues all around the world. I have learnt to work with many different cultures and personalities towards a single goal. Today, at the site level, I try to apply what has certainly contributed to the success of my mission: Being open-minded, honest, proactive and communicate a lot. I believe this has helped my relationships with internal colleagues, suppliers and clients, and is still helping me daily with the team and missions I have. Obviously, I am still learning a lot every day, and hope it will continue!

Besides the amazing chance to have lived in UK and have worked around colleagues from the parent company of the Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK, the biggest benefit is the unique opportunity I have had to be offered a position as industrial development manager. I would have never had this chance applying for such a position being external, at my age and with my lack of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. My VIE experience has meant an opportunity to show my motivation and my eagerness to take on more responsibilities. I have been able to show that I am trustworthy and ready to start a long career in Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK. I am extremely thankful to the people who believed in me during my VIE assignment. I try every day to give back from the chance I was given by Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK and hope I will have the chance to continue growing here.

PROJECT MANAGER FOR THE TECHNICAL TRANSFER PROJECTS, LEGANÉS, SPAIN

The experience enables me to be flexible towards different people’s expectations, working approaches and ways to communicate, which can be very different depending on the culture.

After almost two years as a Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK international assignee in the Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK Bengaluru site, I am currently working as Project Manager for the technical transfer projects of the Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK Leganés site, near Madrid.

My adaptability has been tested, I was able to move from a French way of life to a country where the culture and the environment are totally different.

In the Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK Bengaluru site, I worked amongs others with the analytical development team, implementing a cooperation and support platform between the Indian site and the Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK sites all around the world. That experience enables me to be flexible towards different people’s expectations, working approaches and ways to communicate, which can be very different depending on the culture.

During the assignment in India, I had the chance to benefit from the multidisciplinary  pharmaceutical activities of the site. I learnt a lot about the Quality Assurance and the In-process Quality. I spent time in the manufacturing, where I was able to see and understand the production process, and in the QC laboratory to examine the workforce and equipment management. I also supported the analytical and development teams in their projects, while collaborating with them on the projects, I had an excellent opportunity to learn from their knowledge and experience. All of that allows me, now, to understand the general operation of a production site, which is essential for a good technical transfer project management.

My flexibility, but also my adaptability has been tested during the international assignment. I was able to move from a French way of life to a country where the culture and the environment are totally different. Back in Europe, but in Spain this time, these capacities have again been used to adapt myself to the new language and living hours.

The international assignment was my first job after my studies, so I can say it was not difficult to adapt to the company culture. Furthermore, the values delivered by Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK: Tenacity, Reliability, Professionalism and Entrepreneurship, makes it possible to have a working environment that is favourable to a personal, professional development, but also at the group scale; that is why more and more Pharmaceutical laboratories are choosing Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK as their CDMO.

The biggest benefit of starting my Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK career with the international program was, without any doubt, acquiring responsibilities quickly since Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK and the Leganés site rapidly trusted me. Being one of the first international VIE assignees with Moldons Pharmaceuticals UK, the group’s management team have always kept an eye on us to make the program a success. Thereby, our efforts and proactivity were well noticed.
